Free Energy Day Family Activities in Houston – Oct 15

An official City of Houston event, Energy Day is a public, FREE family-friendly festival on Saturday, October 15, 2011 that celebrates and highlights the importance of energy in our daily lives and Houston’s role as the Energy Capital (click links at bottom for more info).  This day-long free festival takes place at Hermann Square in front of City Hall in Downtown Houston, Texas. There will be energy exhibits, live music, food, contests and fun for all ages.   The event is designed to educate youth of all ages about the overall role all forms of energy play in meeting our current and future needs.

With more than 80 kid-friendly innovative exhibits, like playing with magnets and a weather balloon launch, demonstrations and booths focused on some of the coolest energy-related scientific breakthroughs, games and interactive displays, Energy Day is sure to be a can’t-miss event for the entire family. On-site opportunities will be provided to learn about energy careers.

Energy Day will also feature Live Music, Food and Prizes.  The event runs from 11am- 5 p.m. at Houston’s Hermann Square in front of City Hall, located downtown at Smith between Walker and McKinney. Free parking is available
